皆さま、年の瀬いかがお過ごしでしょうか。今回は皆さまに多大なるご協力をいただいているマラウイ・ファンドの使途が決まりましたのでお知らせ致します。年明け早々には、支援第1号のご報告もさせていただきます。私達は地域の他の活動にも関わっており、皆さまのこんなことはできるのか？というアイデアも活かせると思います。ご意見・ご質問お待ちしております。
Hello, everyone. How do you spend your end of year? Today, we would like to announce “How to use Malawi fund” with your great support. We will report our 1st donation at the beginning of the New Year. We are also involved in other local activities so your ideas or/and questions for Malawi would be highly appreciated to help us in the implementation.
マラウイ・ファンド
マラウイ・ファンドでは、マラウイ国内において以下の４つのプロジェクトを実施します。
1. 災害緊急支援
実施場所：南部パロンベ県、ムランジェ県、チクワワ県シレ川付近
対象者：洪水被災者及び被災コミュニティ
内容：マラウイ南部シレ川付近では毎年大洪水が発生し、被害者や被害家屋が後を絶たない。当プロジェクトでは、災害発生時に緊急支援を実施する。支援物品は食糧・衣類・その他生活必需品を届ける。さらに、被災者の生活再建を支援するために、被災者を対象にビジネスマネージメント研修などの能力開発を実施し、彼らの安定した収入向上を目指す。
実施期間：災害発生時
2. 若者就労支援
実施場所：ルンピ県
対象者：高校を卒業した若者かつ非雇用者
内容：マラウイ国内では就業率の低さが大きな社会問題となっている。高校を卒業した若者（16歳～35歳）の働き先がなく、実家に戻ったり、季節労働者として他国へ出稼ぎに出る者も少なくない。当プロジェクトでは、そのような若者を対象に、彼らがより多くの就労機会を得られるよう支援する。また、ICTなど就労に必要な技術を身に着けるために職業訓練校への進学を支援する。対象者は各村に配置されている村開発委員会によって選ばれ、最長3か月間の社会人研修を実施する。この研修は対象者の就労機会の選択肢を拡大することにある。これによって対象者を的確な就職先へと導けることを目指す。

3. 孤児小学校進学支援
実施場所：ルンピ県
対象者：公立託児所に所属しない6歳～10歳の孤児
内容：マラウイはHIVの流行により平均寿命が低い。これにより国内では多くの孤児が存在する。各地域に存在する公立託児所では5歳以下の孤児を預かっており、多くの援助団体がその託児所を支援している。しかし、公立託児所を卒業した孤児を支援する団体は少なく、小学校へ入学できない孤児が多く存在する。当プロジェクトでは、そのような孤児（6～10歳）を対象に、彼らが小学校へ通えるように各家庭レベルでの生活面及び食糧面の援助を実施する。また、対象者が必要な基本的教材や制服や文具なども支援する。

4. 小学校環境改善支援
実施場所：ルンピ県内の３つの公立小学校
対象者：対象校の全校生徒
内容：ルンピ県中心部には３つの公立小学校が存在する。全校において、筆記用具、美術用品、教科書、机、椅子、スポーツ用品が不足しており、生徒たちは満足に勉学に励むことができない状態にある。当プロジェクトでは、対象校の校長及び先生に聞き取りを行い、各校で必要な物品を支援する。マラウイ・ファンド第一回目の支援は当プロジェクトを実施し、40,830円分の物品を支援した。

Malawi fund
1. Disaster relief
Location: Places along the Shire River in Phalombe, Mulanje and Chikwawa district
Target: The community and people who are affected by floods
Details: Along the Shire River, they experience floods every year. People and houses are affected. So we are planning to give the victims food, clothing and necessities as soon as possible after the disaster happens. Further, these victims need to regain their socio-economic statuses. We are therefore planning to have a program that can enable them start income generating activities (IGAs). We will help them through guidance as well as capacity building in Business Management and savings and investments.

2. Youth support
Location: Rumphi district
Target: The boys and girls who graduate from secondary school and are jobless
Detail: In Malawi, the employment rate is very low. As a result most young people of ages 16-35 are finding it difficult to get income even though they graduate from secondary school. In this project, this project will support them to start business or go to vocational training Centre to learn the skills needed to get a job such as ICT. The project will use Village Development Committees to identifying the beneficiaries and mentoring sessions for up to 3months will commence. These mentoring sessions will aim at boosting the beneficiaries esteem to choose their careers and occupations. These will guide us to know their next step i.e. where to attach them.

3. Orphan support
Location: Rumphi district
Target: Orphanns and vulnerable children who does not belong to Community Based Care Centre (CBCC).
Detail: Due to the pandemic AIDS and low expectance rate Malawi has a lot of orphans and vulnerable children. CBCC supports orphan under 5 and a lot of organization are supporting CBCC. However, a lot of orphan over 6 are not supported by any organization and can’t go to primary school. We therefore target this group of kids of 6 -10 years. The projects activities include, supporting the households from which these kids are coming from with farm inputs to improve their food security. It will also involve supporting these kids with basic necessities for their academic life. These include school uniforms, exercise books, pens e.t.c.

4. Primary school empowerment(Support)
Location: St.Denis primary school, Bumba primary school, RU2 primary school in Rumphi district
Target: All of the students in the schools
Detail: In Rumphi district, there are 3 public primary schools as listed above. They have problems such as lack of stationery, art material, text book, table, chair and sports goods and so on that makes a bad environment for the students to study. We provide necessaries requested by the teachers. So far we have assisted these schools with drawing materials costing to MK199.130 (≒US＄334) from the first funds we received last month.
