皆さま、東南アフリカのマラウイから上柳です。日本は冬本番の時期がきたと聞いておりますが、風邪など引かれていないでしょうか。マラウイは乾期の酷暑が過ぎ、やっと雨期が来つつあります。昔の人が雨乞いをした気持ちが少し分かりました。
さて、今回はそっと応援する会マラウイを一緒に運営していくことになった現地スタッフを紹介します。彼にはすでに現地語通訳を始め、プロジェクト立案など様々な面で知恵を借りています。
先日、初めてマラウイ・ファンドを使用し、マラウイ国ルンピ県の3つの小学校約3000人の児童を対象に文房具の支援を実施できました。これも彼の尽力無しには達成できませんでした。支援報告は後日詳しく致します。それでは、今後とも新スタッフのコーさん共々、どうぞ宜しくお願いいたします。
Hello, this is Mio from Malawi in Africa. I have heard that it is finally in winter in Japan. Please get warm and be careful of getting cold. Here in Malawi, rainy season has come after a very hot and severe weather in dry season. I could feel a little how ancient people prayed for rain in the distant past.
Today, I would like to introduce the new staff in Sotto OuenSurukai Malawi. He has already helped me in translation and project management. With Malawi fund, Sotto OuenSurukai Malawi implemented the donation of stationery to 3 primary schools for almost 3,000 students in Rumphi district in Malawi, which as an institution, could not have been able to achieve without his effort. We will report more details soon. Now, let’s welcome him to our organization!

皆さん、初めまして。私の名前はコンドワーニ・マクドナルド・ムホーネ（通称コー）です。マラウイ国コタコタ地区出身の27歳です。シングルマザーの看護師の母に育てられました。私はコタコタCCAP小学校、ンチシ中高等学校を卒業しました。そして、ジェンダー・児童・障がい者・社会福祉省から政府の奨学生に選ばれ、マゴメロ専門学校に入学しコミュニティ開発を学びました。その後、同省コミュニティ開発局の普及員として働きました。そしてその後、マラウイ大学に入学し、教育社会専攻人類生態学の学位を取得しました。大学時代には研究手法・事業計画から評価に至るまでの様々な研修やインターンシップも経験しました。私の学歴と職歴は常に農村開発に関連しています。この経験を経たことにより、私は農民の潜在的な力や能力を見つけることにとてもやりがいを感じ、行政及び非営利団体が実施する農民への動機づけや能力開発の事業に頻繁に携わるようになりました。農村開発に関われば関わるほど、農村における世代別格差等の問題に気づかされます。この現実を受け止め、私がそれらの問題を１つでも減らすことができるのであれば、どんな事業でも携わりたいと思っています。
私の性格は誰とでも気兼ねなく話すことができ、新しいことを学ぶことが好きです。そして、目標があるとそれに向かって諦めることをしません。また、チームワークを好み、どんな環境でも人の横の繋がりを作ることができます。職歴から、ファシリテーション・カウンセリング・メンタリングを得意とします。私のこのような才能が人々を相互に支援する開発事業において、あらゆる形で役に立つと信じています。
最後に、そっと応援する会マラウイを通してマラウイの発展及び、日本の皆さまと関われることを光栄に思います。
Am Kondwani Mac Donald Mhone ("Kho"). Am a 27 year old young man from Nkhotakota, central part of Malawi. Born in Nkhotakota and raised with a single mom who is a nurse by professional. I did my primary school in Nkhotakota at Nkhotakota CCAP primary school and then moved to Ntchisi Secondary school for my secondary education. From there I was selected to persue a certificate in community development study at Magomero Training College under Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social welfare. After completion of this course I started working as a community development assistant. I thereafter, was selected to do a degree program at University of Malawi, Chancellor College. I was enrolled under Bachelor's of Education Social Studies (human ecology ) program for four years compliment the former experience. With this course I was exposed to different trainings and internships concerning research, project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. My education back ground and work experience have always made me work closely with people especially in rural areas. This is what aroused my passion to help and assist them to realize their potential and abilities. I have therefore been in involved in mobilization and capacity building of several programs both from government as well as private sectors (Non governmental organizations, and Non profitable organizations ). It is the same field that has helped me to realize or identify the gaps or challenges faced by different age groups in Malawi particularly in remote or rural areas. I then realized that given an opportunity and resources I can assist and work with them so that they reduce and eliminate some of these challenges.
Personally, am friendly, understanding and eager to learn new things. Am self motivated, and a self starter who always aim to achieve the goals in time. I also have abilities in team work and am hardworking. I am also a fast learner and easily adapt to situations and conditions. Am also good at networking, colaborating as well as coordinating. With the experience I got from my work am good at facilitation, counseling and mentoring. Am therefore ready to partake on any development project that may come to help or assist people in one way or the other.
At last, I am honored by being involved in development in Malawi and Japanese people from Sotto OuenSurukai Malawi. Thank you.
