現在当会スタッフの一人がアフリカのマラウイ共和国にて、
本日は久しぶりに活動報告が届きましたのでご紹介いたします。

この度、私が一緒に活動している学生グループを対象に、グループダイナミックスとビジネスマネージメントの研修を実施しました。この研修を実施するに至った経緯は、コミュニティ開発局の同僚と一緒に、当グループと複数回に渡ってミーティングを開催した後に、グループメンバーの意思統一が図れていないこと、ビジネス運営のスキルが不足していることが判明したからです。
これらの分野は配属先の得意分野だったため、同僚に講師を依頼し、学生の学校が休みの期間4日間に渡り開催しました。グループダイナミックスでは、グループの特徴や団体指針の大切さを、ビジネスマネージメントでは、簿記や市場調査や価格設定などの基本的なビジネススキルを学ぶ機会となりました。研修の最後には、今後の活動計画も策定しました。
毎日朝から晩までの長丁場で、私も大変疲れましたが、グループメンバーは終始集中力を欠かさず参加していました。しかし、この研修はグループにとっての新たな一歩に過ぎません。これからこの研修をどう活かすかはメンバーのやる気次第です。今後も彼らの歩みに合わせて活動していきたいと思います。
先日、講師とメンバーと振り返りを行ったところ以下の感想をもらいました。
- この研修の一番の目的はグループ内の弱みと強みを知ることでした。今、一通り研修を終えることができ、メンバーが効果的な市場調査と適切な簿記によって、より良いビジネスを展開できることと思います。また、マーケットを増やすために、商品の広報について考えたいという意見がありました。これは彼らの知識によって出てきたアイデアなので、彼らのビジネスは確実に前に進んでいると思います。彼らは学生であることから、このビジネスは学業を妨害してはなりません。そういった環境の中で、今後私たちに何ができるか考えていきたいと思います。実施内容は彼らの学校のスケジュールに合わせて実施したため、実施できなかった内容については今後随時フォローしていきたいと思います。（講師より）
- この研修では私たちのグループにとって、とても多くの大切なことを学べました。例えば、各々の生活スタイルにおける活動時間の把握などです。この研修を実施してくださった全ての方に感謝します。この研修を終えて、私たちのビジネスを運営するために必要な簿記などの知識を学べました。これは利益の使途について考えるために重要で、今後実践したいと思います。（受講者より）
※学生グループについて
グループ概要：Takondwa groupは元々ルンピ県ンゴンガ地区のルカリ高校に在籍する生徒で構成されたグループで、中心的メンバーは全員が高校4年生である。現在はルンピ県ボマ地区（中心地）で活動している。
彼らグループの商品はタイヤのチューブと伝統的な布を使用した小物である。これらの製作方法は上柳の前任のボランティアによって教えられた。
今は彼らにとって将来を決める大切な時期であるため、活動が学業を妨げないように我々も気を配っている。彼らは利益向上にとても意欲的であり、この活動が彼らの良き将来に繋がることを願い、支援を続けて行く予定である。
We held the group dynamics and business management trainings for the local students’ group called Takondwa. This was after having several meetings with this group and finding out that they needed to have a certain goal in common and obtain better business skills for their activity.
I therefore asked the officers from my working place, District Community Development Office to facilitate the training since they are experts in those kinds of trainings. It was organized for 4days of school holidays. In the group dynamics, we focused on the characteristics of the group, importance of a group principle and so on. In the business management, we focused on basic business skills such as bookkeeping, market research and pricing. At the end of the training, we made an action plan.
The training was starting early hours in the morning to late evening everyday but the students concentrated all the time. However, we have to remember this training is just one step for them. Whether they use the skill which they gained from the training in their activity or not is up to them. We will just follow their pace.

1. From the officer,
The main aim of the training was to know their weak and strong point. After all, I am sure that they will do better in business with the effective market research and bookkeeping. There were also some ideas from them about advertisement of their products. I believe that their business go ahead with those ideas. We always have to consider that they are secondary school students, so this business should not interrupt their studies. I would like to think about the best way for them. We had only 4 days for the training but it is not enough. So we will follow up later.
2. From the student,
We learnt many important things for the group from the training such as our time schedule for study and activity. We would like to thank everyone who supports us. After the training, we have got the skills of doing business. We will make efficient use of them in our activities.
Information of Takondwa group:
The members are from Lukali area in Rumphi district in Malawi. Most of them are form 4 in secondary school this year. They do their activities in the central area in Rumphi.
Their products are a bag, purse and belt made from tire tube and traditional clothing. The idea of the products came from the predecessor of Kamiyanagi.
We always pay attention to whether their activity is affecting their studies or not. We can see that they are eager to get profits from their business so we hope this activity can make a better quality of life in their future. We are looking forward to their next step.
